At a certain point in life, we seem to gain a desire to know and understand our past. This desire seems to grow in intensity especially when the past carries with it a nameless history or mystery. Recently, this desire turned to passion for me when I began to uncover the story of my grandmother’s birth. It wasn’t until her early 20’s that necessity drove my grandmother, Dorothy, to uncover the details of her birth and abandonment as an infant. Generations later, there are details that may forever be buried with those that held the secret of her existence, but it has become my mission to bring understanding and healing to the shame that she carried with her to the grave.
Join me on this journey as I try to resolve the legacy that impacted generations of women and a branch of a family once abandoned.
