We’re four days into the new year and already some of us are beginning to waver.
We started the year making all these promises to ourselves: We’d lose weight, exercise more, quit smoking, be a better all-around person.
But change isn’t easy.
“We know that our brains get very adapted to our behavior,” said Erin Richman, a psychology professor at the South Campus of Florida State College at Jacksonville.
“When we change our behavior, it doesn’t feel comfortable.”
